Nuevo Leon is located in Northeastern Mexico, bordering the United States to the north, and linking both countries through the recently opened International Bridge of Colombia. The distance between Monterrey Metropolitan Area (formed by the city of Monterrey, which is the State capital, and 9 adjoining municipalities) and the Texas border is approcimately 140 miles.
